HELSMAC

HELSMAC (HELmholtz Symposium on Materials and Coatings for High Temperature) was focussed on processing, microstructure and performance of advanced materials and coatings designed for use in highly demanding environments, particularly at high temperature. It was supported by the Helmholtz Association, chaired by Bill Clyne, Olivier Guillon and Robert Vassen and held in Downing College, Cambridge on 7th and 8th April 2016. Available here are the Symposium brochure (giving some background information, the oral and poster programmes and the abstracts of all presentations), plus the presentations themselves (from those authors who have provided them) and the Symposium Group Photo (with names).

CCC-30

CCC-30 (30 Years of Composites and Coatings in Cambridge) is an International Symposium to be held in Downing College, Cambridge on Friday 25th August 2017. Attendance is by Invitation only. This Symposium will mainly cover work done by Alumni and current members of the Composites and Coatings Group in the Gordon Laboratory of the Department of Materials Science in Cambridge, over the 30 years since the group was first formed. There will also be other invited guests. Some social activities are planned for the following day. A total of 48 delegates will be attending, many of them currently based abroad and about half of them working in industry. The meeting is linked to an International Network project supported by the Leverhulme Trust (LINCET). The brochure for the meeting (giving some background information, the oral programme, a list of delegates and the complete set of abstracts) is available below. Also accessible below is a video of the Garden Train, which will be running a special service (for children) on Saturday 26th August.
